Department of Immunology
Notes
- Myelin Associated Glycoprotein (MAG) autoantibodies are frequently associated with peripheral neuropathy and frequently occur with IgM paraproteinaemia.
- MAG autoantibodies, contribute directly to the pathogenesis of peripheral neuropathies. Patients with anti-MAG antibody titres may respond favourably to therapeutic intervention.
- Testing for the presence of these autoantibodies is useful for diagnosis as well as monitoring of therapy.
- Test performed by Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
